Managers must invest in role-specific training for data engineers and data scientists, equipping them with the knowledge to navigate ethical and regulatory challenges. Continuous learning and development initiatives for managers themselves are essential, especially for those without prior expertise in AI ethics and regulations.

The EU AI Act represents a significant step towards regulating the ethical and responsible use of AI technologies. While compliance may pose challenges, it also presents an opportunity for organisations to reinforce trust, protect their brands, and uphold ethical standards. As the regulatory landscape evolves, senior leaders across the organisation must prioritise both innovation and compliance, recognising the dual imperative of technological advancement and ethical responsibility.
